About Anger Management
Anger is a normal human emotion, but when it feels intense, frequent, or difficult to control, it can impact relationships, work, school, and overall wellbeing. In adults, anger may show up as irritability, frustration, emotional outbursts, or withdrawal. For children and teenagers, anger is often expressed through meltdowns, defiance, aggression, or difficulty regulating emotions, particularly when they feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unable to express themselves effectively.
Anger is often a signal that something deeper is going on, such as stress, anxiety, low mood, unmet needs, or challenges with emotional regulation. Psychological therapy helps individuals understand the triggers and underlying emotions driving anger, while building practical skills to respond in healthier, more controlled ways. Therapy is tailored to the developmental stage of each person and may include emotional regulation strategies, coping skills, communication tools, and support for parents or caregivers. With the right guidance, both adults and young people can learn to manage anger safely, improve relationships, and feel more in control of their emotions.
